National Vocational and Technical Training Commission to start Training Program of Accreditation and Certification of TVET Institutions

Islamabad, June 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has arranged five day “In-Country training program on Accreditation and Certification of TVET institutions” in collaboration with Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) of Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Manila through TVET Reform Support Programme.

The training programme shall be held from 25th to 29th June, 2012 at NISTE, Islamabad. The NAVTTC has hired the services of two foreign experts of Accreditation and Certification on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The expert will throw light that how an effective and a progressive established Accreditation and Certification system is important and inevitable for TVET institutions that would go a long way for the economic stability of Pakistan.

TVET experts from all provinces including Gilgit Baltistan, AJK and Islamabad will participate this very important training program. For its part, NAVTTC has undertaken strategic initiatives to cope with theses emerging global issues and to enhance the effectiveness and national TVET management to promote more market-oriented and demand-driven TVET programs.

The main contents of the program are: Concepts and Philosophies of Accreditation and Certification, Regional Accreditation and Certification: A Response to Global Trends, Innovative Approaches for TVET Quality and Excellence and Achieving Sustainability in TVET through Quality Assurance.

This In-Country Training Program is designed for Directors, Administrators, Principals, Managers and Senior Faculty Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics, and Senior Officials of TVET Institutions in Pakistan.

At the end of this Five days training program, the participants will be awarded certificates pertaining to their training. Chairman NAVTTC Muhammad Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon will be the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony of this programme which is going to be held at National Institute of Science and Technical Education(NISTE), Faiz Ahmad Faiz Road, H-8/1, Islamabad at 10.00am on Monday 25th June, 2012.
