NDMA urges resilient infrastructure for monsoon season

National Disaster Management Authority hosted a significant session on Pakistan Monsoon Proactive Preparedness and Humanitarian Response Coordination Forum in Islamabad today.

Representatives from UN agencies, leading humanitarian organizations and development partners participated in the session to enhance preparedness and coordination for Monsoon.

Humanitarian organizations briefed the forum on their capacity readiness for Monsoon 2024, detailing of stockpiles including rescue capabilities, relief items, emergency preparedness measures, community engagement initiatives through local trainings and awareness campaigns and rehabilitation plans.

Chairman NDMA Inam Haider appreciated the active participation of humanitarian organizations and development partners in this effort.

He called for collective efforts on resilient infrastructure with indigenous material in highly vulnerable areas.
