ISLAMABAD, Nestlé Pakistan has been awarded two prestigious accolades at the Sustainability Awards organized by the Sustainable Policy Development Institute (SDPI), in recognition of its significant contributions in Gender Equity and Agri Tech & Food Security.
According to Nestle Pakistan Limited, the company’s achievements were celebrated for their Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiatives. These include the Nestlé-BISP Rural Women Sales Program, which has aided 2800 rural women in attaining financial independence and aims to support 5000 women by 2025. Additionally, the Smart Soil Moisture Sensors initiative, covering 548 acres, has been instrumental in helping Nestlé meet its Waters Pledge. This technology enables farmers to monitor sub-soil moisture levels, thereby contributing to the company’s goal of regenerating the water used by its Waters Business to have a net positive impact by 2025.
The Sustainability Awards aim to honor notable efforts and accomplishments in both the corporate sector and civil society organizations. These awards play a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices, inspiring a collective commitment towards a sustainable future. The winners were selected by an independent panel comprising respected experts and thought leaders, who evaluated the nominated case studies.
