New Delhi Intensifies Crackdown in Kashmir with Suspension of Local Employees

Srinagar: The administration in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), directed by New Delhi and led by the BJP, has suspended four government employees, escalating concerns about a systematic replacement of Kashmiri personnel with RSS/BJP activists in government roles.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the affected individuals include a local police constable, a selection grade constable in the J and K local police, a junior assistant in the School Education Department, and a village level worker in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. The official justification provided for these suspensions cited the employees’ alleged pro-self-determination sentiments, a stance that the current administration deems incompatible with its objectives.

Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, a spokesman for the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, commented on the broader implications of such actions, stating that these moves are part of a deliberate strategy to weaken the economic and social fabric of Kashmiri society by stripping locals of both employment and political freedoms. He highlighted the ongoing threats faced by employees who oppose the BJP-led policies, portraying a grim picture of coercion and repression.
