OIC Demands Reversal of India’s Actions in Jammu and Kashmir

Jeddah: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a strong call for the reversal of all measures taken by India in the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir since August 5, 2019, urging respect for its internationally recognized status.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the OIC General Secretariat released a statement on the fifth anniversary of India’s unilateral decision to revoke the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The statement reasserted past OIC Summit resolutions and the Council of Foreign Ministers’ decisions regarding the Kashmir issue.

The organization expressed steadfast solidarity with the Kashmiri people’s aspirations for self-determination and implored the global community to enhance efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute based on the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. Additionally, the OIC announced a meeting scheduled for today to address the ongoing tensions in Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir.
