OIC Reaffirms Support for Kashmiri Self-Determination

Banjul, At the 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Banjul, Gambia, the OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha underscored the organization’s support for the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Taha presented a detailed report on the Kashmir situation, highlighting ongoing efforts to address the dispute in line with the Kashmiri people’s aspirations. He mentioned the visit of OIC Special Representative for Jammu and Kashmir Yusuf Muhammad Al-Dubay to Azad Kashmir, where he met with local leaders and surveyed refugee camps to assess conditions firsthand.

The Secretary General also participated in Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5, 2024, emphasizing the OIC’s readiness to collaborate with all parties to resolve the Kashmir issue and support the Kashmiris’ legitimate rights.
