Islamabad, March 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): The reintegration and rehabilitation of returnee Pakistani migrants is an emerging challenge for Pakistan in reference to decline of manpower export and job opportunities abroad, said Managing Director OPF Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani.

Talking to Ms. Golda Myra Roma Project Manager International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) here in Islamabad, he said that OPF has established a Facilitation and Re-integration Center (FRC) as a pilot project in its Head office to address this issue timely. Ms Golda Myra Roma arrived from Vienna Austria on a weeklong visit to Pakistan in follow up visit of a delegation headed by Ms Sedef Dearing Regional Coordinator Silk Routes along with other four high officials of (ICMPD), which had come to Pakistan last month. Senior officials of OPF were also present in the meeting today.

Managing Director said that the technical and financial support of ICMPD will play a pivotal role in capacity building of OPF officials, who will be handling the reintegration and rehabilitation process of returnee migrants for the utilization of their knowledge and expertise in the development of Pakistan and their own economic sustainability.

Besides, this center would extend integration with all stakeholders i.e. job providers, investment facilitators, vocational training and micro-financing institutions on the other hand. He said to achieve such targets, consultative workshops will be arranged for the guidance and awareness of returnee migrants for their rehabilitation.

Mr. Gilani said that the Regional Coordinator-Silk Routes Ms. Sedef Dearing of ICMPD has expressed her pride to work with OPF in a letter, which is an acknowledgment of our timely conceiving the idea to establish Reintegration and Facilitation Center (FRC) for returnee Overseas Pakistanis in OPF. He said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is being finalized to sign the OPF and ICMPD soon.
