Lahore: The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) has upheld the Social Impact and Performance Rating of the Rural Community Development Programmes (RCDP) with a score of SIP3++ and a positive outlook. This decision reflects the organization’s strong social initiatives and its commitment to financial inclusion, particularly empowering women and rural clients.
RCDP’s governance is bolstered by a seven-member board, which includes independent directors, and is supported by robust board committees. An A category State Bank of Pakistan auditor ensures transparency and oversight. The management team is experienced, with effective risk and compliance practices enhanced by real-time reporting software.
The organization has shown notable business growth, with its outstanding loan portfolio rising by approximately 47% year-on-year to PKR 13,093 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. This growth is aided by the expansion of branches and investment in digital technologies, which improve outreach and operational efficiency.
Financially, RCDP reported a topline of PKR 993 million, equity of PKR 5,288 million, and operating expenses of PKR 650 million in the same period, resulting in a pre-tax margin of approximately 28.7% and a capital adequacy ratio of 38%. These figures underline the entity’s financial stability and capacity to sustain its operations.
RCDP’s programs target microfinance interventions that advance financial inclusion and women’s economic participation, aligning closely with its developmental goals. The agency suggests that establishing a Board-level Social Performance Committee and distributing external impact reports could further enhance governance and stakeholder trust.
Founded in November 2015, RCDP operates as a not-for-profit organization under a Section-42 license as a Non-banking Microfinance Company. With a mission focused on community uplift and economic empowerment, the organization continues to integrate social objectives with operational goals, contributing to its franchise strength and stability.
