Pakistan Advocates for Strengthened Global Food Systems at UN Youth Forum

Islamabad, In a strong call to action at the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York, Pakistan emphasized the necessity of reforming the international financial architecture to enhance global food system resilience.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, expressed support for the United Nations Secretary-General’s initiative to make the international financial system more equitable and responsive to the challenges faced by developing nations. Speaking at the event titled “Feeding the Future: Youth and Sustainable Food Systems for All,” Ambassador Jadoon underscored the crucial link between financial reforms and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those aimed at eradicating world hunger.

He stressed the importance of international collaboration to develop food systems capable of enduring environmental, economic, and social disruptions, noting the growing vulnerabilities in global food supply chains.
