Islamabad, Pakistan and Canada have reached an agreement to strengthen cooperation across a wide range of areas of mutual interest. The consensus was achieved during the 5th round of Pakistan-Canada Bilateral Political Consultations in Ottawa.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, discussions during the consultations covered a broad spectrum of bilateral relations, with both sides identifying opportunities for enhanced collaboration. The talks focused on key areas such as trade, investment, education, parliamentary exchanges, counter-terrorism, and people-to-people contacts.
Additional Foreign Secretary (Americas) Mariam Aftab, who led the Pakistani delegation, extended an invitation to Canadian companies to invest in Pakistan’s energy, mining, and IT sectors, highlighting the potential for growth and partnership in these industries.
The consultation is seen as a significant step towards deepening the relationship between Pakistan and Canada, with both countries exploring new avenues for cooperation to foster stronger bilateral ties. The discussions aimed to create a framework for ongoing dialogue and collaboration in the coming years.
