Pakistan and Sri Lanka Commit to Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad: In a significant step towards deepening bilateral relations, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to broaden cooperation across several key sectors including agriculture, health, connectivity, and culture. This decision was made during the seventh round of bilateral political consultations held today in Islamabad.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, “The discussions were led by Sri Lanka’s Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane and Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi. The consultations occurred in a friendly and constructive setting, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations.” The two sides deliberated over various aspects of their relationship, focusing on trade, economic cooperation, defense, education, and more.

Further enhancements in bilateral dialogue and exchange mechanisms were agreed upon, with both nations expressing a commitment to strengthen these processes. Additionally, both countries noted their shared perspectives on several global issues, underscoring their aligned interests on the international stage.

The meeting underscores a mutual desire to further cultivate a relationship that has historically been marked by warmth and cooperation.
