Islamabad, In a move to further cement their strong bilateral ties, Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, defense, and security. This agreement was reached during discussions between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Turkish counterpart, Minister for Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting also involved preparations for the upcoming 7th session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council scheduled to take place in Islamabad. Both ministers expressed commitment to addressing regional and global issues, including the situation in Gaza, where they called for an urgent, unconditional ceasefire and stressed the importance of humanitarian relief for Palestinians.
Additionally, they discussed the imperative of combating Islamophobia globally. The leaders reaffirmed the historical and cultural bonds between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of continued high-level exchanges to strengthen their relationship. Foreign Minister Fidan’s visit comes as part of a formal invitation from his Pakistani counterpart, aiming to discuss and expand upon areas of mutual interest.
