Pakistan Calls for Restraint Amid Middle East Tensions, Expresses Shock Over Sydney Tragedy

Islamabad, Pakistan has voiced significant concern regarding the current tensions in the Middle East, urging all involved parties to practice restraint and pursue de-escalation strategies. This appeal comes in response to recent incidents, including an attack on an Iranian consular office in Syria earlier this month, which Islamabad has labeled as a critical escalation in an already unstable area.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Foreign Office highlighted the incident as a demonstration of the severe consequences that can arise from the breakdown of diplomatic efforts. The statement reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding calls for international mediation to halt the widening of hostilities and to establish a ceasefire in Gaza. The Foreign Office also criticized the United Nations Security Council for its failure to uphold its duties in maintaining global peace and security, emphasizing the urgency of stabilizing the situation and restoring peace.

In a separate but equally grave concern, Pakistan expressed profound sorrow and shock over the recent devastating events at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney, Australia. The Foreign Office conveyed its condolences and support to the families of the victims and hoped for a swift recovery for those injured.
