Pakistan Commits to Strengthening Ties with ASEAN for Regional Prosperity

Islamabad: On the occasion of ASEAN Day, Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to enhancing its partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), aiming to contribute to a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar conveyed his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the ASEAN member states during his message to mark the day.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Senator Dar praised ASEAN as a beacon of regional integration and collective progress, noting its substantial contributions to economic development, social cohesion, and diplomatic engagement across Southeast Asia. He emphasized that Pakistan values the significant role of ASEAN in fostering regional peace, stability, and prosperity within the Asia-Pacific.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s active involvement in ASEAN’s dialogue mechanisms, expressing a desire to deepen cooperation in various fields including trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. Dar also expressed optimism about the strengthening of Pakistan’s engagement with ASEAN through active participation in the ASEAN Regional Forum.
