Pakistan Embassy in Berlin participates in International Open Day

Islamabad, August 25, 2012 (PPI-OT): German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development organized an International Open Day in Berlin here today. About 50 Embassies of different countries based in Berlin set up their stall showcasing traditional and cultural items of public interest from their respective countries. Says a press release received here today from Berlin.

Pakistan Embassy put on display handicrafts of wood and marble, embroidered clothes, accessories besides books and brochures on Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Mr. Abdul Basit visited the stall along with his family and interacted with the visitors of the stall. He welcomed German Federal State Secretary for Economic Cooperation and Development, Mr. Hans-Juergen Beerfeltz who visited the Pakistan Stall and exchanged views with the Ambassador on Pak-German cooperation in the field of Economic Development.

Mr. Beerfeltz was served with sliced Pakistani mangoes. After eating, he remarked, “it is very delicious and sweet like honey”.

People from different international communities and German citizens visited Pakistani Stall and took keen interest in items like traditional dresses, embroidered bags and pouches. They were served with Samosas, Pakoras and Baryani with Yogurt-Podena Chattni. They were appreciative of the Pakistani food and enjoyed its spicy taste.
