Pakistan Launches Nationwide ‘Plant for Pakistan’ Initiative on Independence Day

Islamabad: Marking its 78th Independence Day, Pakistan has initiated the ‘Plant for Pakistan’ campaign, a nationwide effort aimed at combating pollution and promoting tree plantation across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the campaign takes advantage of the monsoon season, which provides optimal conditions for planting. The focus is on planting species like neem, Indian rosewood, and Indian coral tree, which are well-suited to the local environment.

The initiative not only involves planting new saplings but also emphasizes the importance of their maintenance to ensure they thrive into robust trees. This large-scale planting effort is part of a broader environmental strategy to enhance green cover and address ecological challenges facing Pakistan.
