Ankara: Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Pakistani Embassy in Ankara, where Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid led a flag hoisting ceremony that underscored the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Turkey.

According to Press Information Department, the celebration featured readings of messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister, who paid homage to the nation’s founders and reiterated support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. Ambassador Junaid highlighted the contributions of Pakistanis in various fields and particularly noted Arshad Nadeem’s Olympic gold in javelin as a symbol of the country’s potential. The ambassador praised the Pakistani diaspora in Turkey for their role in fostering bilateral relations and stressed the importance of continued dedication to Pakistan’s progress.

The event also included a special display of Turkey-Pakistan solidarity, with Ankara’s Atakule and bridges in Istanbul set to be illuminated in the colors of the Pakistani flag, celebrating the shared values and friendship between the two nations.
