Pakistan re-elected to Executive Council of Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Islamabad, December 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan has been re-elected to the 41-member Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for the term 2014-16.

The elections for the Council were held during the 18th Session of the Conference of States Parties (CPS), held in The Hague from 2-5 December 2013. Pakistan has been continuously serving as a member of the Executive Council since the establishment of the Organization in 1997.

Pakistan has also been serving as Coordinator of the Asian Group for the past many years.
