Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Palestine, PM Shehbaz Sharif Tells Palestinian Ambassador

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, pledging to continue advocating for their rights at every international platform. During a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Jawad A.A Rabei in Islamabad, Sharif condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza and criticized Israel’s disregard for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2728.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister voiced his profound disappointment over Israel’s persistent violations of the resolution and its brutal actions in Gaza, calling for an immediate cessation of what he termed a genocidal war against innocent Palestinians. He lamented the tragic loss of over 32,000 Palestinian lives, including 17,000 children, and the injury of more than 70,000 individuals due to Israeli security forces’ actions.

Sharif also expressed gratitude towards Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for his congratulatory message following Sharif’s re-election, underscoring the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Palestine. He highlighted Pakistan’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause across various international forums, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister mentioned Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts, detailing the country’s dispatch of seven tranches of relief goods to Gaza, with plans for another shipment following Eid.

Ambassador Rabei expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s steadfast support, noting that such solidarity is a significant source of strength for the Palestinian people during these challenging times.

This meeting underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights and its condemnation of violence against them, reflecting a continued diplomatic and humanitarian support for the State of Palestine.
