Pakistan Seeks Respectful Relations with US, Asserts National Assembly

Islamabad, In response to a resolution by the US House of Representatives, PML-N leader Shaista Pervaiz Malik emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining sovereignty and fostering relations with the United States based on mutual respect.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a news conference in Islamabad today, Malik, alongside Barrister Aqeel Malik, addressed the recent National Assembly resolution which articulated Pakistan’s stance on non-interference in its internal affairs. Malik asserted that Pakistan, as a sovereign nation with functioning institutions, would not tolerate breaches of its sovereignty.

Barrister Aqeel Malik criticized the US resolution for overlooking the issues in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, highlighting a perceived inconsistency in addressing human rights violations. He also expressed disappointment with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf for not supporting the National Assembly’s resolution.
