Pakistan Sends Aid and Evacuates Citizens from Lebanon

Islamabad: In a show of solidarity and support for Lebanon, Pakistan has dispatched its first humanitarian aid shipment and facilitated the return of 79 Pakistani nationals from the conflict-stricken country. This initiative follows direct orders from the Prime Minister to assist the people of Lebanon during their time of need.

According to Press Information Department, a special chartered flight arranged by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) landed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on October 9, 2024. The returning citizens were received with a warm welcome led by Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Sindh Industries Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo.

Simultaneously, the same aircraft carried a shipment of 3 tons of medicines destined for Lebanon, marking a coordinated effort by NDMA, the Pakistan Army, and the Al-Khidmat Foundation. The send-off for this crucial aid was attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NDMA, the Armed Forces, and representatives from Al-Khidmat Foundation.

Pakistan’s commitment to aiding Lebanon in this challenging period underscores its dedication to humanitarian support and international solidarity, hoping to contribute to a peaceful resolution in the region.
