Pakistan Stresses Kashmir and Gaza Issues at ASEAN Forum

Islamabad: At the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi highlighted critical regional conflicts, including the situations in Kashmir and Gaza.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Qazi underscored Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, security, and cooperation. He praised ASEAN for its contributions to regional integration and prosperity, and affirmed Pakistan’s strong relationships with ASEAN and its member states.

During his address, Qazi called for the resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He also discussed the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Afghanistan, advocating for dialogue and inclusiveness over divisive bloc politics.

In addition to his formal remarks, Qazi engaged in sideline discussions with several prominent ASEAN representatives, including Dato’ Astnaah Abdul Aziz, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN; Sun Weidong, Vice Foreign Minister of China; and Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
