Pakistan to Export 40,000 Metric Tons of Sugar to Tajikistan

Islamabad: The Sugar Advisory Board has recommended exporting 40,000 metric tons of sugar to Tajikistan, a move facilitated by the Trade Corporation of Pakistan following approval by the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the recommendation came from a meeting held in Islamabad today, chaired by the Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain. The country holds a sugar reserve of 2.852 million metric tons, ensuring sufficient supply to meet domestic needs while supporting international trade commitments.

Minister Hussain has directed authorities to reconcile and report the current sugar stock at the next meeting to maintain transparency and effective resource management.
