Islamabad: Leading lawyers across Pakistan have voiced their support for the proposal to amend the constitution and establish a Federal Constitutional Court. This move aims to modernize the judicial system and enhance the efficiency of legal processes in the country.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, former Secretary of the Islamabad Bar Association, Advocate Asif Irfan, called for collective efforts to achieve judicial reforms necessary to overhaul Pakistan’s outdated judicial system. Advocate Mazhar Javed, also a former Secretary of the Islamabad Bar Association, expressed his approval of the decision, highlighting that the new court would handle cases of constitutional and political significance, thereby allowing the Supreme Court to focus on general cases.
Advocate Javed Iqbal Banday, a member of the Supreme Court, added that the establishment of a constitutional court would significantly reduce the workload on the Supreme Court of Pakistan and speed up the justice dispensation process.
