Pakistani Minister Highlights Kashmiri Struggle for Self-Determination

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has articulated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Kashmiri fight for self-determination, against what he describes as oppressive Indian occupation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a webinar organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin on the eve of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, Tarar praised the enduring sacrifices of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom. He noted these efforts as a testament to their resilience and determination to achieve justice and autonomy.

Tarar condemned India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which involved revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, describing them as illegal measures intended to disenfranchise and displace the Kashmiri population. He reinforced the stance that Jammu and Kashmir is recognized internationally as a disputed territory, and India’s continued control over the region violates several international laws and human rights norms.

The minister urged the global community to intervene and pressure India to cease its human rights violations in Kashmir and to rescind its actions from 2019. He emphasized the international community’s duty to respond decisively to support Kashmir’s prolonged struggle for rights and self-determination.
