Pakistan’s Defence Minister Vows Justice for May 9 Military Installation Assaults

Islamabad, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif issued a strong statement today vowing that the assaults on military installations and memorials of national heroes, which occurred on May 9, will not go unpunished.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a video message, Minister Asif conveyed his dismay over the events of May 9, describing them as attacks on the very foundation of Pakistan, orchestrated by a riotous group in a quest for power. He emphasized that such actions, which even the nation’s enemies would not dare undertake, were part of a pre-planned scheme incompatible with the values of any civilized country.

Minister Asif reassured the nation that those responsible for the violence the planners, abettors, and implementers have been identified and will face legal consequences as per Pakistani law and the Constitution. The minister’s statement reflects the government’s resolve to maintain the sanctity of the state and ensure that such disturbances are met with strict judicial responses.
