Islamabad, Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb has stated that the government’s current economic reforms are designed to build business confidence and attract increased investment into Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during discussions with Jakob Linulf, the Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, and a delegation from Danish company Moller-Maersk (APM) Terminals led by CEO Keith Svendsen, Minister Aurangzeb articulated his optimism about the impact of these reforms. The meeting, which took place in Islamabad today, focused on potential future projects and investments, particularly in the maritime sector.
The Finance Minister underscored the importance of strengthening economic relations between Pakistan and Denmark and reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. On his part, Svendsen expressed APM Terminals’ eagerness to expand its presence in Pakistan, highlighting the significant potential he sees in the Pakistani market.
The discussions also touched on the need for improvements in customs rules and regulations to enhance the efficiency of maritime operations, with Minister Aurangzeb assuring the delegation of his support for these changes.
Both parties recognized the value of ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the public and private sectors as essential for further enhancing the economic ties between the two countries.
