PDP Accuses New Delhi of Non-transparent SPO Recruitment in Jammu Region

Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has voiced strong objections against the Modi government’s method of recruiting Special Police Officers (SPOs) in the Jammu region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, criticizing it for lacking transparency.

According to Kashmir Media Service, PDP General Secretary Mehboob Beigh highlighted these concerns at a press conference. He alleged that local police authorities in Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, and Poonch districts have engaged in what he termed “backdoor recruitment.” Beigh claimed that these recruitment processes were conducted without public advertisements and involved selecting candidates from specific areas through predetermined formats.

This approach, Beigh argued, obscures the recruitment process and mirrors past controversies surrounding recruitment scams in the region.
