Peace, prosperity in South Asia linked to Kashmir settlement: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, January 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that no one can dream of peace, stability and prosperity in the South Asian region without settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Muhammad Yasin Malik addresses a mammoth gathering in Ganderbal, today, said that if the international community intended to establish lasting peace in the world then it would have to resolve all pending issues including the Kashmir conflict.

He said that if Kashmiris kept on their march towards freedom then no power on the earth could ever deter them from reaching their desired destination.

Yasin Malik said that pro-India politicians, political parties and leaders despite all their hypocritical politics and slogans couldn’t hide the fact that they were responsible for all the miseries and hardships of the people of Kashmir. “It is these political parties and leaders that safeguard the interests of India, its forces in Kashmir and it is these people who go to assembly and make legislations like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) and implement them against Kashmiris,” he added.

Condemning the criminal silence of the international community on the Kashmir dispute, the JKLF Chairman said that Kashmir dispute was a reality and no sane person could deny that the dispute was continuously threatening the peace and stability of South Asia.

He said that putting the Kashmir dispute on backburner would bring nothing but more disaster and distress. He said, if anybody thinks that he can bring peace and stability in the region by putting Kashmir on backburner and sidelining the Kashmiris, then he is living in a fool’s paradise. His address was punctuated by high-pitched anti-India and pro-liberation slogans. The JKLF Chairman also led a procession in the area.
