PM and CDF Depart for Switzerland for Talks on Islamabad MoU Implementation

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has departed for Brgenstock, Switzerland to participate in high-level talks on the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

According to Radio Pakistan, high-level delegations from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Qatar, and the United States will be part of these discussions. These talks represent the first formal engagement following the signing of the Islamabad MoU on June 17, 2026. Pakistan is committed to supporting and advancing the understandings reached between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States.

On the sidelines of the talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to engage in bilateral interactions with delegations from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Qatar, Switzerland, and the United States. These meetings aim to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and peace in the region. Pakistan’s facilitative role highlights its balanced and constructive approach throughout the crisis, including hosting previous rounds of US-Iran talks and maintaining diplomatic contacts that led to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
