Islamabad, June 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the New Global Financing Pact Summit being held at Paris in France. The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the UN Secretary General and expressed his best wishes for him. The UN Secretary General also reciprocated in the same manner. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said Pakistan considers the UN Secretary General as the benefactor of Pakistan and we cannot forget your help in devastated floods last year.
Shehbaz Sharif recalled the UN Secretary General that you are the eyewitness of the destruction caused by climate change in Pakistan. The Prime Minister apprised the UN Secretary General about efforts for repatriation of the flood hit people saying restoration and rehabilitation of the flood victims will remain the topmost priority of the government. Antonio Guterres appreciated the commitment of the Prime Minister and his government for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
