PM Shehbaz Sharif Declares National Celebration Plans for Independence Day

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan will commemorate its Independence Day with fervor and national pride. During a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he emphasized the country’s commitment to diligence and devotion to national service, alongside acknowledging significant achievements and ongoing government reforms.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister lauded javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem for his gold medal at the Paris Olympics, marking a historic victory for Pakistan after forty years. Discussions at the meeting also covered improvements in the power sector, spearheaded by Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, which are reportedly showing positive outcomes.

Further, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted initiatives aimed at reducing production costs to boost the industrial and agricultural sectors and called for necessary reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue to enhance tax collection and streamline operations. He urged ministries to adopt paperless operations and innovate to instill hope and progress within the nation.

The cabinet session concluded with a tribute to the late Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch and Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, acknowledging their sacrifices for the country.
