Posters in Occupied Kashmir Call for October 27 to Be Observed as Black Day

Srinagar: Posters have emerged in Srinagar and other parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, urging people to observe October 27 as Black Day in protest against the region’s illegal occupation by India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, these posters, distributed by Freedom Lovers and other pro-freedom groups, highlight October 27, 1947, as the day Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir in violation of the Partition Plan and international laws, disregarding the will of the Kashmiri people.

The posters, prominently displayed on walls, buildings, and utility poles, refer to this date as the darkest in the region’s history. They emphasize the sacrifices made by countless Kashmiris for freedom and the ongoing suffering caused by the occupation, including the imprisonment of thousands of Hurriyat leaders, activists, and ordinary citizens. The posters also draw attention to the blinding of hundreds of youths by pellet gunfire and the widespread destruction of property over the years.

Calling for a complete strike across the territory on October 27, the posters urge Kashmiris to reject Indian rule and continue their struggle for self-determination. They also encourage Kashmiris living abroad to organize protests to raise awareness of the occupation and show solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The messages have been widely circulated on social media platforms, amplifying the call for action and solidarity.
