Karachi, Power Cement Limited (PCL) has entered into a term sheet with Burj Solar (Private) Limited for the development and financing of a new wind power initiative. This project, aimed at reducing dependency on fossil fuels, will be established on the premises of Power Cement in Karachi.
The collaboration will focus on a 9.6 MW wind power project, designed to operate on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model for 20 years. The initiative is expected to cut down carbon emissions by approximately 15,000 metric tons each year, while generating about 30 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually.
Burj Solar will take on the development and funding of the project following its financial closure. A comprehensive agreement will be formalized soon to detail the project’s framework and operational guidelines.
