President confirms 6 months extension in tenure to 6 Additional Judges of Lahore High Court

Islamabad, March 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of the Prime Minister has confirmed grant of six months extension in tenure to the following Additional Judges of Lahore High Court;

1. Mr. Justice Abdul Sami Khan
2. Mr. Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi
3. Mr. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan
4. Mrs. Justice Ayesha A. Malik
5. Mr. Justice Shahid Waheed
6. Mr. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi

The Summary states that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had forwarded these nominations to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts recommending six months extension in their tenure as Additional Judges of Lahore High Court.

The Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts unanimously agreed with the nominations of Judicial Commission and requested the Prime Minister to advise the President for according his approval. Accordingly, acting upon the advice of the Prime Minister, the President has confirmed grant of six months extension in tenure to the above-mentioned Additional Judges of Lahore High Court.
