President of Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Minorities on National Minorities’ Day

Islamabad: As Pakistan marks Minorities’ Day on August 11, President of the Islamic Republic emphasized the country’s dedication to the socio-economic development and rights of its minority communities, recalling the foundational promises made by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1947.

According to Press Information Department, the President highlighted the constitutional safeguards and Islamic teachings that advocate for the protection and inclusion of minorities. Significant measures such as a 5% employment quota in government jobs and reserved parliamentary seats demonstrate Pakistan’s efforts towards empowering these communities. Furthermore, the government has initiated programs providing financial aid, marriage grants, educational scholarships, and maintenance funds for worship places to aid minority groups.

The President called on all societal segments, including religious scholars and media, to promote interfaith harmony and educate the public about the rights of minorities. He assured that the government remains committed to protecting the rights and fostering an environment where all can thrive regardless of religion, caste, color, or creed.
