Islamabad, June 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): President Dr Arif Alvi has urged insurance companies to expand their services in health and agriculture sectors. He was addressing a seminar, titled ‘Role of ombudsman in development of insurance sector’, in Karachi on Friday.
The President said the quantum of insurance sector in national economy needs to be enhanced like other countries of the region. Dr Arif Alvi said health expenditure was a major concern for people particularly the lower income group and there was a vast potential of health insurance services in the country.
Emphasizing the need of insurance services for agriculture sector, the President observed that agriculture was another important sector of economy that was under served by insurance companies. He called for employing modern information and communication technologies to expand the insurance services.
