Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Directs Development of Relief Package at Utility Stores

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has mandated the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) to formulate a relief package aimed at easing the financial burden on Pakistan’s lower-income citizens by providing subsidized essential items.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, spokesperson Inayatullah, in an interview with PTV News, detailed the components of the proposed relief initiative. The package will significantly bolster the subsidies provided under the Benazir Income Support Programme, focusing on essential commodities such as sugar, pulses, and flour.

This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to mitigate economic strain on vulnerable populations, ensuring access to affordable necessities amid fluctuating market conditions.
