Curfew and Internet Shutdown in Udaipur After Communal Clashes

Jaipur: Following a stabbing incident at a government school in Udaipur, Rajasthan, authorities have enacted a curfew and suspended internet services for 24 hours in an effort to quell the resulting communal violence.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the disturbances began in Udaipur’s Madhuban area after a Class 10 student was attacked by a peer. The incident quickly escalated as Hindutva group members reacted by torching vehicles and pelting stones at civilians and law enforcement. In response, Udaipur District Collector Arvind Poswal announced the suspension of internet services and the closure of educational institutions in the city, citing the severe law and order challenges posed by the unrest.

Further complicating matters, BJP MLA Phool Singh Meena’s suggestion to demolish the home of the accused student using a bulldozer has sparked additional controversy and tension in the community. An FIR has been filed against unidentified individuals involved in the violence, as local authorities and police continue their efforts to stabilize the situation and prevent further disturbances.
