Prime objective of parliament is to legislate in the best interest of common people: Speaker National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf

Islamabad, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that prime objective of parliament is to legislate in the best interest of common people. He also said that support and input of intelligentsia and youth and academia is vital for enacting research-based legislation.

He expressed these views while awarding completion certificates among Research Associates after completion of their 6-month program with TADVEEN-Legislative Drafting and Research Clinic working at National Assembly of Pakistan in Islamabad today.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf also added “Parliament is the House of people and everyone is welcome here”. He urged the Associates to continue playing their role in the development of country in whatever capacity possible. It is pertinent to mention that Tadveen was introduced in National Assembly to assist in research-based law making through provision of quality inputs.
