Punjab Bar Council Delegation Meets Federal Law Minister to Discuss Mutual Interests and Grant-in-Aid Matters

Islamabad, June 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): A delegation of lawyers from Punjab Bar council led by Mr. Basharat Ullah Khan (Vice Chairman Punjab Bar Council) and Mr. Tahir Shabbir Chaudhry (Chairman Executive Committee Punjab Bar Council) along with honourable members of Punjab Bar council called on Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar on June 2nd, 2023. Issues of mutual interests and the matters regarding Grant in aid were discussed. The honourable Minister shared his views regarding the importance of Bar Councils stating that the Bar Councils are an integral part of our legal justice system.

The delegation informed the Minister about various issues faced by the Bar and the Minister assured his utmost support to resolve these. The honourable Minister expressed that it is important to have a laison between Govt and Bars and there should not be a disconnection which is why Lawyers Protection Act holds great importance. The participants of the meeting appreciated the efforts of the Law Minister for the passage of Lawyer's protection Act which was a long standing demand of lawyers across Pakistan.
