Punjab Lecturer Dismissed for Prolonged Unauthorized Absence

Lahore: Ms. Rimsha Fatima, a lecturer at Govt. Chando Begum Graduate College, has been dismissed from her position following a series of administrative procedures investigating her extended absence without permission.

According to Higher Education Department – Government of The Punjab, the disciplinary action was taken under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act of 2006, after Ms. Fatima failed to respond to multiple show cause notices and did not appear for scheduled hearings. The notices highlighted her absence from duty starting May 16, 2023, and despite being given opportunities to explain her absence, she neither responded in writing nor appeared in person, leading to her removal.
