Punjab Police Arrests Fugitive in UAE, Marking Continued Crackdown on Overseas Offenders

Karachi, In a significant move to curb criminal activities, the Punjab Police, under the directive of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, has intensified its operations against fugitives, successfully arresting another proclaimed offender from the United Arab Emirates. This latest arrest marks the 26th fugitive apprehended abroad this year, indicating the force’s relentless pursuit of justice across international borders.

According to Punjab Police, the crackdown on criminals residing abroad continues unabated, with the recent arrest facilitated through close coordination with Interpol. The offender, Sabir Ali, had been on the run after defrauding a citizen of 30 lakh rupees in Mianwali three years ago. Following a Red Notice issued by Interpol at the behest of Punjab Police, their persistent efforts led to Ali’s capture in the UAE.

Upon his repatriation, the Mianwali police took the accused into custody at the airport. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the team for their success and emphasized the importance of swift legal proceedings to ensure the accused faces the consequences of his actions.

This action underscores the Punjab Police’s commitment to upholding the law and its capability to extend its reach beyond national boundaries, showcasing a proactive approach to law enforcement and criminal justice.
