Punjab Police Takes Decisive Action Against Gender Violence Under Chief Minister’s Vision

Lahore, Reflecting the zero-tolerance policy of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif towards violence against women, Punjab Police has ramped up its efforts to combat gender-related crimes across the province.

According to Punjab Police, following the Chief Minister’s directive, law enforcement has intensified operations to address violence, abuse, and harassment against women and children, deeming such acts a red line. In a recent case, Punjab Police swiftly apprehended an individual accused of murdering his sister-in-law in Mamu Kanjan, Faisalabad. The accused, identified as Latif, allegedly killed 38-year-old Faizan Bibi with an ax in an honor-related crime. The weapon was recovered, and the perpetrator was arrested within 24 hours of the incident.

The police have registered a case against the accused at the Mamu Kanjan police station, and strict legal proceedings are underway to ensure justice. The quick response and stringent action underline Punjab Police’s commitment to enforcing the Chief Minister’s vision and improving safety for women in the region.
