Lahore, In a broad-ranging meeting with members of the Punjab Assembly from the Rawalpindi Division, Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, outlined an ambitious plan for the province’s development. The plan includes the revamp of rural and basic health centers, the construction and repair of 600 roads, and the establishment of 5 expressways and 3 motorways, all set to be completed within the next six months.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the assembly members lauded Chief Minister Sharif for the success of the Ramadan Care Package and praised her swift action on various projects aimed at enhancing the province’s cleanliness and overall development. They expressed their confidence in her leadership, highlighting that her efforts were exceeding their expectations.
Chief Minister Sharif took personal interest in the assembly members’ suggestions and immediately directed the implementation of development works at Holy Family Hospital, as well as the speedy completion of under-construction hospitals in Murree and Rawat. She also discussed plans to promote tourism in Kotli Sattian, Kahar, Chakwal, and other areas, including the construction of a sports ground in Taxila and a small dam project in Rawalpindi Division to improve drinking water supply.
Further, Chief Minister Sharif announced initiatives to tackle water supply and sanitation issues, improve WASA operations across Punjab, and launch mobile hospitals and clinics to serve remote areas. She affirmed the government’s commitment to revamping health centers, improving road infrastructure, offering 100% free medicines with home delivery, and building a state-of-the-art hospital in Murree.
In addition to health and infrastructure projects, Sharif disclosed plans to launch safe city projects in 18 cities and implement a comprehensive solid waste collection system across all 36 districts of Punjab. Addressing the assembly members’ concerns, she outlined significant investments in education, including the construction of the first government cardiology and cancer hospitals in Sargodha and Lahore, respectively, and the distribution of motorbikes, laptops, and iPads to students.
The Chief Minister’s comprehensive development strategy also encompasses enhancing Sikh tourism and developing tourism sites across Punjab, indicating a robust long-term and medium-term plan for the province’s growth and prosperity.
