Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Credibility of Lok Sabha Elections Following BJP Candidate’s Unopposed Win

New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Congress Party in India, has voiced serious concerns about the integrity of the Lok Sabha elections after a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, Mukesh Dalal, was elected unopposed in the Surat Lok Sabha constituency of Gujarat.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi’s criticism followed the disqualification of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani’s nomination papers, which led to Dalal’s uncontested victory. Gandhi denounced the election outcome as a manifestation of dictatorship, stating on social media that “The real ‘face’ of dictatorship is once again in front of the people.”

Further compounding the controversy, Congress Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that democracy in India was at risk, labeling the election process in Surat as rigged. He highlighted that aside from the BJP, all other nominations were dismissed, suggesting a manipulation of the democratic process to ensure a BJP victory.
