Relief goods for flood affectees

Karachi: Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, has appealed to the people to assist, as part of their moral and social obligation, the rain affected in the province. He said this when he handed over a consignment of relief goods to a delegation of the University of Karachi at the Governor House here.

The delegation, led by Pro Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi, consisted of faculty members, staff and students of the University.

The delegation will distribute, on behalf of the Sindh Governor, the relief goods among more than 500 families of rain victims of Badin and Nawabshah, Dr. Shahana said.

She said that the delegation apprised the Governor of the relief goods worth Rs 60,000 distributed by the faculty and students of Karachi University on August 28 among the rain affected of Badin. Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan appreciated the initiative taken by the University of Karachi in this regard.

Chairman NIT, Wazir Ali Khoja, who was also present on the occasion, announced a donation of Rs 500,000 for medicines for the rain affected, it was further stated.
