Lahore: Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Punjab says the rivers are experiencing persistent flooding in the province due to heavy rains in the upper catchment areas.
According to Radio Pakistan, at Ganda Singh Wala in the Sutlej River, an extremely high flood level has been recorded with a water flow of 261,000 cusecs. At Sulemanki, a high flood level is being witnessed with a flow of 137,000 cusecs.
In the Chenab River, water flow at Marala is 69,000 cusecs, while at Khanki Headworks there is a low flood with a flow of 108,000 cusecs. At Qadirabad, a low flood is also reported with a water flow of 120,000 cusecs. At Trimmu Headworks, the water flow is 416,000 cusecs and at Panjnad, an extremely high flood has been recorded with a flow of 452,000 cusecs.
In the Ravi River, water flow at Jassar is 28,000 cusecs while at Shahdara, a medium flood is being witnessed with a flow of 59,000 cusecs. At Balloki Headworks, an extremely high flood level has been recorded with a water flow of 104,000 cusecs. At Sidhnai Headworks in the Ravi River, a high flood level has been recorded with a water flow of 135,000 cusecs.
