Lahore: The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) hosted a visit from Prof. Dr. Alaa Garad, Pro Vice Chancellor of Scotland’s Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education, who unveiled a trilateral partnership framework dubbed the “Golden Triangle.” This initiative aims to link Pakistan, China, and Scotland, fostering collaboration in education, cultural exchange, innovation, and research.
During the meeting at the PCJCCI Secretariat, Prof. Dr. Garad emphasized the potential of the initiative to bridge East and West, leveraging the strengths of each nation for sustainable progress. The framework seeks to create synergies across borders, promoting innovation-driven development.
Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General of PCJCCI, highlighted the importance of formalizing academic and cultural linkages. Discussions included joint academic programs, research initiatives, faculty exchange, and skill development, particularly in emerging technologies and sustainable development.
Imtiaz Mehmood, Commercial Ambassador of PCJCCI, underscored the role of commercial diplomacy in enhancing international educational ties. He pointed out the significance of workforce upskilling and public-private partnerships in driving inclusive growth.
Prof. Dr. Garad elaborated on the potential contributions of Al-Maktoum College, highlighting its expertise in Islamic economics, international relations, and leadership studies. He expressed interest in facilitating delegations, conferences, and cultural exhibitions to bolster socio-economic ties.
