Search Teams Narrow Down on Crash Site of Iranian President Raisi’s Helicopter

Islamabad, A search operation is currently underway to locate the helicopter crash site carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation near Varzaqan in East Azarbaijan province.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, despite challenging weather conditions, armed forces and rescue teams are actively searching the rocky and hilly terrain and have narrowed the search radius to two kilometers. President Raisi was returning from a ceremony marking the inauguration of a dam on the border with the Azerbaijan Republic when the incident occurred.

The president of the Iranian Red Crescent Society has confirmed the identification of President Raisi’s crashed helicopter, although further details have not been released yet.
